What are QR codes?
QR Codes are 2D codes, similar to the barcode in supermarkets. In Japan they are already part of the everyday culture, links in newspapers are usually coded with QR Codes (qr = quick response).
To use them on the way, some mobile phones already have some preinstalled software. The most popular QR Code reader are KAYWA Reader and i-nigma, at the iPhone Barcode works very well.

Note: The default error correction level allows the QR code to be read even if up to 7% of the code is misread, missing, or obscured. The number of characters that can be encoded decreases as the EC level increases.
